nice guys finish last and are destined to lose.
They run a calm race at their happy pace
not cutting of guys or starting a chase.
They continue to run for they know what's at stake.
All dreaming a dream of Glorious fate.
But they know with sincerity, they'll get there in time
for that Someone to greet them when they're crossing that line.
The final redemption after all the years they have trained
for Someone to hold them and block out the pain.
Not setting a record only One to impress
just finishing the race would be their personal best.
